The Ballot Explainer was designed by the Creative Campus Voting Project.

Our research shows that new voters often feel overwhelmed when they encounter a ballot for the first time. We designed this tool to answer common questions, ease anxiety, and build curiosity and confidence around ballot research.

While some details in this tool are specific to the Michigan ballot, the guidance is broadly applicable to new voters across the US. Read more about the Creative Campus Voting Project
